Homeopaths without borders international

The Homeopaths without borders of 18 countries meet annually since 1997 to coordinate their work and exchange their experiences. In 2003, at a conference in Egmont aan Zee / Netherlands, an international federation was created to promote a tighter cooperation. In November 2007, HWW (Homeopaths Worldwide) was founded with the following member countries: France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Madagascar and Germany. The headquarters of the organization is at Den Haag.

Goals:

Coordination of projects

We want to harmonize our activities in the various countries; this applies to the educational contents as well as to the cooperation with the local institutions.

Example: in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the German section of Homeopaths without borders is working in Sarajevo while the Dutch section is working in Tuzla. A few students attend the courses in both towns, therefore harmonizing the programs is essential.

Exchanging experiences

There are many possibilities to form and carry out a project and there are many potential problems that can come up in the process. The experiences gathered during many years of work can be of immeasurable value when starting new projects.

Example: some time ago, the French and Dutch sections learned that it is not very practical to start lecturing first about the theory of homeopathy, since there were more pressing problems that had to be tackled first. Thus, an educational concept oriented to local requirements was created:

In Bosnia, it was necessary to start with the treatment of traumatic disorders, while in Kenya we had to start teaching and treating with remedies for wound healing, whereas in the villages of Honduras, the children had to be first treated for diarrhoea.

Research

In the countries in which we work, we are confronted with diseases that are almost unknown in Europe. Therefore, the homeopathic experience in treating these diseases is rather small. It is therefore necessary to do research in these fields and to compare the results of the various projects.

Example: Homeopaths without borders Madagascar presented a study of the remedies that were most successful in treating the consequences of malnutrition. Even differential diagnoses of the individual remedies were clarified. These experiences will now be used in other projects.

Certification

For the participants in our courses it is important to receive a certificate at the conclusion of their successful training. Therefore standardized teaching guidelines are being developed to guarantee that the certified trainings include all important basic educational contents.
